A bit about me…
Good afternoon! I hope you’re having a great day where ever you may be! I’m sitting here in California on a dock waiting to get my trailer off loaded and it’s going to be a while, so I thought I would write a tad and tell you a bit more about me and why I’m so attracted to portrait photography.
You know by now that I’m a truck driver that’s trying to change my career, and I’ve been on medical leave for the past year. I’m now some what recovered and back on the road if you couldn’t tell from my opening statement. LOL! My favorite colors are soft pink and a soft Robin’s egg blue, and I have fallen in love with anything rose gold! I work in a man’s world, and get dirty often (dirt attracts to me like white on rice!), so wearing those colors while on the job is out of the question. But, hot pink will do the trick!
Another thing about me is I love animals! We own 2 cats. Yuki, is our youngest, and Flapjack is our old codger! I love watching and listening to bird’s. I think they are amazing creatures! And I’ll take photos of them if I can.
Decorating and organizing is a passion of mine. The decorating has been pretty much on hold since we live in an apartment and most of my stuff is still in storage in Illinois. The organizing is something I’m challenged with every day in the truck and when I’m at home. Two small spaces at my disposal! Hubby and pour son doesn’t cadre much for my organizing because I’m constantly moving and hiding things on them. Our son this me one day that I need to leave a note everytime I move something. That ain’t happenin!
Why I like portrait photography…
I love photography! But, when I found Sue Bryce and her style of photography, I knew that was what I wanted to do! Out here on the road I see so many women, and not just truck drivers, but all sorts of women. And many of them seem to need a validation that they are beautiful! If we don’t look like the models on magazines, or the latest trending star, we feel sub par and not beautiful enough. I used to feel that way about myself in relation to my husband. I always felt I wasn’t good enough or beautiful enough for him. That changed the older and wiser I got. Now I know that I am good enough for him and I make him happy! And it doesn’t matter how I look, he still loves me the way I am. Now, if I were to stop bathing, brushing my teeth and hair, he might drop me like a hot potato! So, I at least have to keep that up.
Us women are always trying to make the people in our lives happy, and not really thinking about ourselves. With most of us, it’s our loved ones that come first, it’s just the way we’re wired. Well, I want to make women feel beautiful inside and out. I want them to love themselves as much as they love their families, and to know it’s ok to be pampered once in a while. I also want them to know that life is too short and it’s not too late to get that generational photo taken with their Grandmother (and the sooner the better if she’s 99 years old like mine). A photograph is something to cherish, and having one done professionally with your daughter or son, or even by yourself, know that it will last generations and is something to behold. I want to show all women that they are beautiful and they deserve to have a special day to be photographed like they are the star!
Well, that’s a bit about me, how about you tell me about yourself. What’s your favorite colors? What’s your hobby? What’s you’re favorite animal? Let me know down below. And, if you want a few hours to play dress up and be photographed like never before, contact me and we can get that done. Remember, enjoy life, enjoy the day and take lots of photos for the memories!
