This word is something that is not synonymous with many businesses today.  I know, I’m dealing with one right now that doesn’t know the meaning of it, nor of customer service, but that’s for another blog post.  I was listening/watching a Sue Bryce video a couple of weeks ago, and I think it was either on sales, or on website building. Any way, she was discussing integrity, to have and show integrity in everything you do.  In your life and in your business.

Honesty, Honor, and doing the right thing….

The words that describe integrity is something that I have always been proud to say that I really try to have present in my daily life.  My husband once told me his definition of integrity, and that was to have the moral fortitude to do what’s right even when no one else is around.  I think this is the perfect definition of this word that seems to be so undervalued in today’s society.

A few weeks ago the word integrity popped up again, and it was nice to hear.  My husband and I just recently changed driving companies and this was one of the first words that was uttered in the company orientation that we had to attend.  This company has a very high value in this word and it was nice to know that we are working with a company that holds honesty, moral fortitude, good character, and sincerity in high regard.  I like working with companies that hold integrity as a high standard or work ethics.  Like I said earlier, it’s something that is rarely seen in today’s society.

Love and understanding….

In my life and my business practices integrity plays a huge part! I try to be very honest when I tell you what I offer as a photographer.  I am very sincere in when I tell a person that they are beautiful, even though you may not feel it at the time.  Most of us don’t feel beautiful, but sometimes there’s someone out there that can see the beauty that we don’t see.  That can see our struggles and our discomfort with our selves and our body image.  I know, I’ve been there and still struggle with it.  But, it doesn’t rule my life, I have more important things to deal with, like loving and caring for my family and loving the people in all aspects of my life.

Trying to be a loving person even to those that don’t have integrity in their vocabulary, is one of the hardest things to do.  Being a morally upright person doesn’t mean you have to be a snot about it either, it just means you have to gain patients and understanding with those around you that doesn’t have integrity as one of their moral standards.

A photographer with integrity….

As a photographer I will never steer you wrong, I will be honest with you, and I will do the right thing, because that’s just who I am.  It is very hard for a person to do the right thing when no one is watching.  Because why not cheat the system, no one is watching me?  It’s what everyone does, so why not be like others? That’s not who I am.  I am an individual with high moral standards, and a very guilty conscious if I go against my grain.

When you choose me as your portrait photographer, know that I will do the best job and I will give you the value you and integrity that you ask for.  Remember, to always enjoy life, enjoy the day and to take lots of photos for the memories!
